Once upon a time, a girl named mY met mE and that’s where our story began.

We are passionate about food, travel, and storytelling, and we believe that exceptional dining experiences should not feel out of reach. From discovering the best restaurants in London and beyond to creating restaurant-quality meals at home, our mission is simple: to help you elevate your culinary experiences.

Whether you are searching for inspiring recipes, unique dining recommendations, or ideas to host unforgettable dinners, we share our journey through food with honesty, creativity, and a deep appreciation for flavour, culture, and connection.

About mY

My relationship with food began at home. I grew up in a big family where space at the table was limited, so my grandmother would lay newspapers across the floor and we would sit together, sharing what felt like an endless spread of food. She was of Chinese descent, born and raised in Tuyên Quang in Northern Vietnam, and she taught me something that has shaped everything I do: food is a language of love.

In many Asian cultures, where saying “I love you” is rare, love is expressed through food. It is in the question, “Have you eaten yet?” It is in slow cooked braised pork, delicate steamed sea bass with ginger and spring onion, and rich bone broths that take hours to perfect. It’s in the time, the meticulous care, and the intention behind every dish. These early family meals taught me that food is more than just fuel; it is a powerful way to emotionally connect with loved ones and bring communities together.

Growing up in a working-class household, we never had access to expensive, high-end ingredients. Instead, I was raised to understand the magic of taking simple, humble ingredients and combining them to create something truly extraordinary. Coming from a family of talented cooks and restaurant owners, I found myself helping to run my father’s Vietnamese restaurant in Shoreditch, London, at just 23 years old. We served authentic staples like fresh summer rolls and Pho, but we also pushed culinary boundaries by offering adventurous diners exotic meats like ostrich, crocodile, and venison.

My profound desire to discover new flavors eventually took me across the globe. While living in Thailand, local teachers invited me into their homes where we cooked rustic green curry and som tam (Thai papaya salad) in their backyards using massive, traditional pestles and mortars. When I moved to Seoul, South Korea, I learned how to master authentic japchae and bulgogi, and I even launched my own supper club to bring comforting British staples like hot cross buns and afternoon tea to my new friends.

Now back in London, these influences shape everything I create. From themed dinner parties to experimenting with new flavour combinations, I love hosting and sharing dishes that feel exciting, unexpected, and memorable.

My mission is simple: to make you hungry. Hungry for authentic food, hungry to cook, and hungry to explore and travel.

About mE

I’m a storyteller. I truly enjoy entertaining people with tales of our travels, the fascinating people we meet along the way, and the incredible food we experience. I mostly stay behind the camera, helping mY share our culinary adventures with the world. 

Every now and then, I come across a dish that I just have to share with mY, which has led to some interesting and delicious re-creations in our kitchen.

I have a deep love for Indian cuisine and traditional sweets, cannot function without my morning black coffee, and will almost always be found exploring the cocktail menu while mY focuses on the food.

My life changed when I watched the film Point Break and developed a long standing dream of becoming a surfing bank robber. Still working on that one.
